Accepting these terms
By using extension.lat you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site. Where you use it on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you may bind that organisation to these terms.
These terms cover this website. The extensions themselves are separate software, distributed through the Chrome Web Store and Edge Add-ons, and each is covered by its own store terms and its own privacy policy in addition to these.
What this site is
Extension.lat is the website of an independent studio that designs and builds browser extensions. Its pages describe our own software: what each extension does, the permissions it requests, the browsers it supports and the limits worth knowing before you install it.
It is not, and does not claim to be:
- a directory, a marketplace or an app store for other people software;
- a distribution channel — we host no extension files here, and every install button points at an official browser store;
- a guarantee that any extension is suitable for your particular situation;
- professional, legal or security advice.
The extensions themselves
Our extensions are licensed, not sold. Provided you comply with these terms, you get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use them for their intended purpose. Ownership of the software, its design and its name stays with us.
You agree not to:
- redistribute, repackage or sell an extension of ours, or publish it under another name;
- modify or reverse engineer it beyond what applicable law expressly permits;
- use it to break the terms of the sites you visit, or to infringe anyone else rights;
- present a modified build as an official release.
Installing from anywhere other than the official store links on this site is at your own risk. Repackaged builds are how extension supply-chain attacks reach people, and a copy we did not publish is not covered by anything written here.
What you create with an extension — screenshots, exports, files — is yours. We claim no rights over it, we never see it, and nothing is uploaded to us in the process.
No warranty
This site and our extensions are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not warrant that an extension will be uninterrupted or error-free, that it will work with every site, or that the browser platform it depends on will keep supporting it.
Browsers change their extension APIs frequently and without our involvement. A feature that works today can be restricted by a browser update tomorrow, and while we fix what we can, we cannot promise a workaround will exist.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Extension.lat and the people behind it are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, revenue or goodwill, arising from your use of this site or of our extensions. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us, which for free software is zero.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- scrape this site at a rate that degrades it for other people, or bypass technical limits;
- republish its pages wholesale, or present our writing as your own;
- use its content to train a model or build a derived dataset without written permission;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site or its infrastructure;
- impersonate us, or suggest an endorsement or partnership that does not exist.
Reading, linking, quoting and sharing are all fine and encouraged. If you are writing about one of our extensions and need assets or details, ask and we will send them.
Our content
The text, design and code of this site are ours. You may quote short passages with attribution and a link back to the page. You may not reproduce whole pages or substantial parts of the site without written permission.
Our extension names, logos and icons are our trademarks. Use them to refer to our extensions, not to brand anything of your own.
No submissions
We do not accept extensions for publication, listing or review. There is no submission process here, nothing to buy, and no way for third-party software to appear on this site — everything published here is written and built by us.
Anything you do send us — a bug report, a feature request, a suggestion — may be used to improve our extensions and their pages, on a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free basis. You keep ownership of what you send. Please do not send confidential material: correspondence with us is not covered by any confidentiality agreement.
Availability and changes
We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of this site or any extension at any time, including adding, changing or removing features. We may update these terms; the date at the top of this page shows the current version, and continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator of extension.lat is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and the courts of that jurisdiction have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence. For the specific jurisdiction and registered details, write to legal@extension.lat.
If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in force and the unenforceable part is limited to the minimum extent necessary.
Contact
Legal notices and trademark questions go to legal@extension.lat. Bugs, feature requests and everything else are better sent through the contact page.
